Cairns Vets on alert over paralysis tick serum shortage

Cairns Vet Clinic is making sure they have adequate supplies of life-saving tick serum after reports of a national shortage.  Record numbers of dogs a being affected by ticks on the East Coast and tick serum is quickly running out.  We have adequate supplies to protect Cairns pets till the end of our tick season but are working to ensure we aren't left short as national supplies dwindle.  Tick paralysis can kill dogs within 1-3 days of the first signs of symptoms, and it is important to give tick serum as early as possible to improve the chance of survival.
