Cairns pets at risk as snakes enter yards and home

Heavy rains in the Cairns region drive snakes to move to seek dry ground as their habitats flood.  This brings snakes into yards and parkland, and thus into contact with humans and pets.  Cairns pet owners should beware snakes in their yard, especially if their property is close to bush, swamp, creeks or parks.  Cairns Vet Clinic advises people not to handle snakes as this may result in injury: contact a qualified snake removal expert!
